Apart from its core area of work, ESDECS has been able to work in a variety of other projects for clients like Unicef, Tata Trusts and Vikramshila.
UNICEF
A. ESDECS has worked closely with Unicef and in technical collaboration with Vikramshila to develop a Life Skills module for students of KGBV hostels of West Bengal. This module has been a huge success in creating awareness among disadvantaged girl children of remote parts of the state.
B. We are working in technical collaboration with Vikramshila for an intervention in Bihar led by Bihar Madhyamik Siksha Parishad (BMSP) & Unicef Bihar for replicating the E2E program and have been actively involved in the capacity of resource experts for content development, instructional design as well as Training of trainers and state wide rollout.
C. ESDECS has created a resource film on Anganwadis on behalf of Unicef West Bengal. We have also translated the ECE curriculum to be used by the Anganwadi workers in their respective Anganwadis or government pre-primary education centres
TATA TRUSTS
We have worked with Tata Trusts to conduct baseline study of students for an innovative program known as IT in Education (ITE). The progam teaches students school subjects with the use of IT. This program is meant for students of classes V-X. The baseline was an attempt to assess the base level knowledge and awareness of IT of the students before the start of the intervention. ESDECS conducted this baseline for various partners of Tata Trusts such as Nabadisha (under Vikramshila) in Kolkata, Samaritan Help Mission in Kolkata and Digital Empowerment Foundation (DEF) in Meghalaya & Assam
CSC SPV
ESDECS has translated the question bank for IT training for the CSC SPV. This training has been rolled out across the state of West Bengal.
EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION (ECE) KITS
ESDECS has worked closely with the Department of Child Development (DCWD), to provide learning resource kits for their Anganwadi centres across West Bengal. In addition we have also supplied these pre-primary kits to Unicef & Vikramshila in West Bengal and Ankur Trust of Assam. Till date we have supplied kits to 1678 Anganwadis of the state.
EARLY BIRDS
ESDECS runs its own brand of affordable, English medium, ICT enabled, pre-school for Bottom of Pyramid (BoP) segment in Kolkata. ESDECS plans to create an ecosystem where a cluster of Early Birds within a specific geography will feed into a High school to be set up by ESDECS in the near future.
ESDECS also provides strategic advisory support to CSR wing of corporate entities and offers innovative solutions to channelize their CSR resources to grassroots organizations and foundations.
